Suggestions for Making Art with a Message of Higher Meaning
Hi Allyson,
I'm an artist creating mandalas and sacred geometry art. I’d like to thank you and Alex for sharing sacred geometry and spreading psychedelic spirituality. I really love the work you and Terence did and still do. Do you have any suggestions for making art that carries a message and deeper meaning?
Hayden
Dear Hayden,
Thanks for writing to ask about suggestions for making art with a message of higher meaning?
Some artists have great ideas and much to say but have not developed the skills to communicate their ideas effectively.
Some artists have studied and cultivated skills in drawing and even painting, but lack the ability to communicate a powerful message through their art. The best artists study and work everyday to cultivate both artistic skills and worthy, evocative icons of meaning.
Just so happens that a workshop being held next weekend at CoSM is called “Making Meaningful Art.” Taught by the brilliant and heartful artist, Randal Roberts, this course still has a few openings available.

Workshops at CoSM taught by Alex & myself cover that question, as well. We will be teaching several courses in 2025.
In March 2025, I will again lead a “Start a Painting” workshop in which we immerse ourselves in all aspects of beginning new visionary artworks.
The Visionary Art Intensive, taught by both Alex & myself for 28 summers, will be held again next summer. This class focuses on accessing visionary realms, exploring inner worlds and documenting them through art. In this workshop, drawings (with color) can be touchstones for future paintings. Consider joining us to boost your discovery and development of personal image identification and a unique style.
To learn about upcoming opportunities to study art at CoSM, look for a listing of this class and other CoSM art events at cosm.org/events.
If you’d like to send a picture of your best painting or drawing, feel free to share it with me via email.
Thank you for your kind acknowledgement.
Blessings on your creative path,
Allyson
